OKLAHOMA
TASK FORCE ONE
Oklahoma City Fire Department - Tulsa Fire Department
The State of Oklahoma has added two Hackney USAR trailers
to the states USAR Task Force teams. One each is operated
by the Oklahoma City Fire Department and the Tulsa
Fire Department USAR Teams and are duplicates in design
and layouts. These two tractor/trailers are supplemented
by a third trailer operated by The Oklahoma State
University Fire Service Training group.
The 18-compartments
provide an incredible 1734 cu.ft. of useable storage
space, plus additional storage in the four 16-ft roof
top compartments. The trailers are pulled by Freightliner
M2-112 four-door cab tractors and powered by Caterpillar
C-13, 410 hp engines and Allison 4000EVC 6-speed automatic
transmissions. Both the tractor and trailer has tandem
axles with aluminum alloy wheels. The cab has five
high-back individual seats for comfortably moving
the team around the state.
The tractor
and trailer are multiplex interfaced with a V-MUX
Vista control center in the tractor cab controlling
all functions and providing graphic displays of open
door warning and deployed awnings. All clearance stop/tail/turn
signal and warning lights are LED. The 12VDC system
is supplied by a six-battery system and 320-amp alternator.
The 12kw
Onan diesel generator, mounted on the tractor, supplies
power for scene lighting with two flood lights on
each side and two removable tripods on the rear. Four
cord reels with power distribution boxes provide remote
power. Each compartment is augmented with 120VAC fluorescent
lights recessed above each door opening.
Both
Oklahoma City and Tulsa Fire Department trailers provide
a massive 1734 cu.ft. of storage inside the trailer,
plus additional storage in the four 16-ft long roof
compartments. Note the fold down ramp. This ramp can
be relocated to any of the ten tall compartments using
spring-loaded attachments that pin into receivers
in each compartment. The 12.0kw Onan diesel generator
is mounted on the side of the tractor and draws fuel
from the tractor fuel tanks. It is interconnected
to the trailer via an 100-amp umbilical cord. All
compartments are 46 deep and designed for pallet
loaded USAR caches. The caches are secured in the
compartments with spring-loaded restraint bars across
the front of the compartment openings. Additionally,
there are cargo tie-down rings in the bottoms of each
compartment. Electrically deployed awnings on each
side provides additional logistical work zones sheltering
against rain and sun.
