The Honolulu Fire Department added a Hackney Technical Rescue trailer to their fleet of special operations vehicles. The 37.5-ft long trailer has a total of thirteen compartments: ten with roll-up side doors; two at rear with drop-down doors (transverse) and a full width tunnel compartment in the rear with split, hinged doors. The rear compartment is designed to carry a full timber compliment for shoring operations. The side compartments are designed to carry pallets of cached equipment that is loaded and unloaded using the forklift that is transported on the rear.

  • 30kw Kohler diesel genset installed in the front fifth wheel compartment with remote radiator on roof and 30-gal fuel tank under fifth wheel plate
  • 125-amp service panel
  • 90-amp 120vac to 12vdc converter and battery conditioner that operates all trailer mounted 12vdc lights from the generator
  • 30-amp shorepower with automatic transfer relay
  • Hannay cord reels (2) with 200-ft 10/4 cable and power distribution boxes on end
  • 900-watt MagnaFire flood lights: (3) each side; (1) rear
  • 120vac fluorescent lights in each compartment
  • Strategically place 120vac outlets (7) and (1) 240vac outlet
  • LED tail light and marker lights

  • Whelen 90-series LED warning lights (2) on upper rear
  • Backup alarm
  • Stainless steel fenderettes over rear tandem wheel openings
  • 82” high x 43” deep exterior compartments between fifth wheel and rear axles
  • Articulating forklift mounted to mounting brackets beneath trailer
  • Floors rated at 2300# direct force for support of pallets
