Hillsborough County Fire-Rescue, Tampa
The State of Florida has added a ninth Hackney USAR
trailer to its strategically located USAR fleet using
Hackney’s newest drop-deck model TDD900 heavy
trailer. This is the second heavy USAR trailer operated
by Hillsborough County Fire-Rescue in the greater
Tampa Bay region and is used for USAR logistical support.
The TDD trailer can be configured with or without
exterior roll-up doors. The interior can be all exterior
access compartments, all open interior space, or a
combination.
The trailer
is fully compatible with the other eight Hackney trailers
operated around the state and is fully multiplexed
and NFPA 1901 compliant. All warning lights are Whelen
LED.
The interior is complemented with large capacity cabinets
with adjustable shelves rated at 500 lbs. each.
There are two 120VAC power sources - a 6.0kw generator
mounted on the front of the trailer and a 30-amp shorepower
connection with automatic transfer relay.
For command and logistics operations, a stainless
steel fold-down desk has been installed across the
front of the bulkhead wall with locking cabinets above.
The trailer is designed to be fully operational as
a stand-alone unit without the tractor or utilizing
any available tractor.
