The
Amarillo Police Department chose a Hackney CR0682R
Tactical and Bomb Response vehicle to serve the northwestern
panhandle of Texas. The 21-ft body is mounted on a
Freightliner M2, 4-door cab and chassis.
The rear of the body features a
command center with aluminum cabinets and stainless
steel desk/work counter and hangers for bomb suits.
A 30,000# pintle hook was installed for towing a bomb
disposal trailer. The roof is recessed and provides
a 16-ft storage compartment and light tower with six
(6) 900 watt MagnaFire flood lights.
A 25,000 watt PTO generator is mounted
inside the left front compartment for powering the
light tower, air conditioner, refrigerator, 110v compartment
lights, and camera and video systems. Above the generator
compartment are six sets of cabinets with sliding
plexiglass doors.
An ATF Type 3 Explosive Magazine
Day Box is mounted in the left wheelhouse compartment.
In the second left side compartment is a folding aluminum
evidence collection work table that slides out of
the compartment. An full body length awning is mounted
on the road side to provide an exterior work and rehab
zone. The remote controlled robot is transported in
the right front compartment and is loaded and unloaded
via a bi-fold ramp.
