This 19.5-ft rescue body provides a huge amount of storage capacity for its designed mission of supporting special operations within the fire district and mutual aid support in surrounding districts. The Hackney DF0973 body is mounted on a Freightliner M2-106 chassis with 300 hp MBE engine.
One of the unique aspects of this unit is the 98 gallon diesel fuel and transfer pump located in the wheelhouse compartment. A 40,000 watt, 3-phase generator provides power for the light tower and other electrical components, plus an emergency auxiliary power plant during power outages.
Located in the right rear compartment is a two-bottle SCBA fill station with cascade control panel and four 6000 psi DOT receivers.
The fully multiplexed electrical system provides real-time diagnostics and powers all the 12VDC systems on the body and chassis. It features a color VISTA control and graphical interface panel on the cab console. A LED traffic advisor light bar on the rear and backup camera provides safe operations in high traffic zones.
