Hackney

Model DF0973P

SISSONVILLE FIRE DISTRICT
Sissonville, WV

Sissonville, nestled in the mountains north of Charleston, required an all-in-one vehicle that could be used for routine rescue responses, service support and with fire suppression capabilities to handle calls during periods when first responder manpower to staff multiple trucks was limited. They selected Hackney because of its ability to custom design a vehicle to handle all these requirements, provide storage capacity in excess of other choices and stay within a set budget.

The 17.5-ft body is mounted on an International 4400 using drop/pinch frame technology  that provides 40” of compartment depth from floor to ceiling in the four forward compartments.  This highly maneuverable apparatus exceeded all their requirements and expectations.

A slide-out tool board in the left and right rear compart-ment accommodates all large hand tools.

The dropped rear compartment is set up for installation of all hydraulic rescue tools. Note two hydraulic reels in the top with slide-out hose roller guides.

A transverse slide-out tray behind the water tank provides mounting of SCBA’s and fire extinguishers.
