Romney is located in the northern pan-handle of the West Virginia mountains and experiences its share of snowy winter days. They have chose a Hackney 7-compartment rescue with an International 7400 four-door, four-wheel drive chassis.
The left front compartment is a huge 52" wide x 62" high and 40" deep from floor to ceiling, providing 75 cu.ft. in one compartment. Transverse tunnel compartment across the top of the wheelhouse compartment provide storage for a stokes basket, two long backboards and folding ladder, retrievable from either side of the body. 10,000 lb receivers are located on the front, rear and left and right sides for a 9000 lb. winch that is stored in a drop-down compartment in the front bumper.
A 12kw Onan diesel generator is mounted beneath the cab powering a Command Light tower, upper side body flood lights and cord reel. All lights are LED.
