LaPorte, located on Galveston Bay just outside of Houston, purchased two (2) Hackney rescue mounted on low-profile Freightliner M2’s with four-door cabs . Hackney was selected for the second time due to satisfaction with the last rescue purchases. The low-profile was a compromised between a light-duty and larger medium duty. The chassis features a Cummins 300 hp engine; Allison 2200EVS automatic transmission; 10,000# front axle; 15,000# rear axle; and 275-amp alternator. The officer and three rear seats are SCBA.

- Safety interlock to prevent the vehicle from being moved when the light tower is extended
