The Hannibal Fire Department, located in Northeast Missouri, provides fire fighting, hazardous material, BLS Emergency Medical Service, Vehicle Extrication, and Search & Rescue responses.
To transport equipment in response to these various incidents, the department chose a Hackney Model DF0973R medium duty rescue mounted on an International 4400 cab/chassis with 330 HP.
The nine-compartment body features ten thousand pound receivers installed on the left, right and front of the body for a portable 9000 lb Warn winch operation. Where access to equipment in upper compartment areas, Hackney provided their exclusive drop-down step platform, providing an 11” deep Grip-Strut surface. Storage of a variety of equipment is divided up between slide-out trays, slide-out tool boards, poly boxes, shelves, stokes basket/backboard/ladder tunnel, 300 lb.-capacity absorbent hopper and SCBA bottle storage.
The electrical system is fully multiplexed and has a 25kw PTO generator. This multitasked vehicle’s lighting is provided by seven scene lights, two telescoping 900 watt magnafire flood lights, two 900 watt magnafire tripod lights and two 900 watt magnafire flood lights recess mounted in the center on each side of the body.
All NFPA 1901 compliant lighting is LED.
A full body length awning is provided on the road side for staging and facilitation of rehab operations.
