What would prompt a department located
over 2200 miles away to purchase a Hackney? “A
quality reputation in Arizona coupled with incredible
value and strong service facility” says Captain
Mike Kuykendall, who was part of the spec team. The
new Hackney replaces a 25-year old utility and support
vehicle. Cottonwood is a city of approximately 13,000
located in a mountain range about halfway between
Phoenix and Flagstaff. Lots of space and a short wheelbase
was critical to the mission. Thus, the decision to
specify Hackney drop/pinch frame technology was an
important consideration in the specification writing
process.
The 330-hp Freightliner M2 chassis
provides plenty of power for the lightweight unit
to climb steep grades fully loaded.
