A three-man bench seat with storage beneath is installed in the forward crew compartment and features three (3) SCBA cradle-backrest with quick-release brackets. A fold-down stainless steel desk is installed on the forward wall in front of the center seating position along with radio communications.
CAMPBELL FIRE DEPARTMENT Campbell, New York
Campbell is located along Interstate 86 approximately south of Rochester. The fire department decided on a Kenworth T270 chassis with an additional three crew seats in the front of the body. The 14.5-ft body has seven compartments with roll-up doors (see drawings).
The Kenworth features a 280-hp engine with Allison 2500EVS 5-speed automatic; 10,000-lb front axle; 19,000-lb rear axle; air brakes; aluminum wheels; air suspension driver seat; 50-gallon fuel tank; and 270-amp alternator.
A 25kw PTO generator provides power upper body flood lights; tripod flood lights; cord reels (2); multiple interior and exterior power outlets (interior outlets powered through an automatic transfer relay from generator and shorepower input); and a 240VAC Amkus Simo hydraulic power unit.
Two Amkus hydraulic reels are installed in the rear compartment with slide-out hose roller guides. One remote valve is installed on the front bumper with remote switch for pump.
The crew compartment is equipped with a combination heater and air conditioner mounted on the upper front wall.
Emergency warning devices include: Whelen LED warning lights, headlight wig-wags; Federal PA300 siren; and air horns on the left and right sides of the tilting hood. A LED traffic director light bar further protects the rear of the apparatus on roadways.
All compartments are lighted using LED light strips recessed into the leading edges of the compartment walls providing lighting inside all shelves and trays from top to bottom. Additional scene lighting is provided by Whelen 12VDC halogen lights; two left, two right and two rear. The rear lights are also activated automatically in reverse mode.
A full body length awning provides crew protection and shade during extended operations.
