Missaukee County EMS Lake City, Michigan
The Missaukee County EMS is managed by the Sheriff's Department headed by Sheriff James Bosscher and supports all types of emergency responses along the shores of Lake Missaukee in the northwest section of the lower peninsular of Michigan. The areas typically swells in population during the summer and winter tourist seasons.
The chassis selected was a Chevrolet C5500 with 330 hp Duramax and Allison 2350 EVS automatic. The four-drive chassis has a GVWR of 21,500#, providing a nearly 7,000# payload. The 14.5-ft long, 9-compartment body supports equipment for responses to auto accidents and medical incidents.
There are three 10,000# receivers for supporting a 9,000# portable winch; one left, one right and one rear. A generator provides power for tri-pod flood lights, cord reel and multiple power outlets. Two pre-connected hydraulic hose reels are installed in the upper rear compartment.
LED clearance and tail lights and traffic director light bar are provided for durability. All emergency warning lights are Whelen LED, including the light bar. Compartment lights are LED strip type recessed in the side walls of each compartment. Whelen 12VDC halogen scene lights are located: two each upper side body and two rear body with reverse activation. Sold by Michigan First Response.
