Whiteville
Rescue Squad is located in the coastal plains of Eastern
North Carolina approximately 40 miles west of Wilmington.
The Whiteville Rescue Squad purchased a Hackney DFC1164R
Custom Cab Heavy Rescue mounted on a Spartan Advantage
MFD with 10" raised roof. The 19.5-ft body features
11 compartments with two additional compartments in
the recessed roof.
A 25kw PTO generator provides ample power to operate
the light tower with (2) MagnFire flood lights and
(2) 1000 watt Metal-Halide 110,000 lumen flood lights.
Each light bank can be rotated in opposite directions
to provide lighting on each side of the apparatus
simultaneously. Each compartment is lighted by fluorescent
lights that also provide perimeter lighting. Four
recessed MagnFire flood lights are mounted in the
upper side body (2 each side) and one on the front
of the cab. Two tri-pod mounted MagnaFire flood lights
provide portable lighting from the two Hannay cord
reels. Multiple outlets around the apparatus provide
additional power sources.
A 9000-lb portable winch is stored
in the front bumper behind a fold-down bumper access
door and can be mounted and operated from receiver
sites on the left and right side of the body and rear
of the body.
Located in
the curbside forward wheelhouse compartment is a slide-out/drop
down desk with book and resource cabinet located just
above the desk. A full body length awning is provided
for command and rehab operations.

Utility air
is supplied from the 18.7 cfm engine driven compressor
to a 150-ft hose reel. Two Hurst hydraulic reels are
mounted in the upper rear extrication compartment
powered by a Hurst Simo pump connected to the apparatus
240VAC power outlet.
