St. Rose lies on the north side of the Mississippi River and just south of the New Orleans International Airport. It covers a large residential and industrial zone, including refineries, Interstate highways and rail lines.
The 23-ft body features thirteen lower compartments, plus compartments on the recessed roof. A whopping 856 cu.ft. of storage capacity is available in the lower compartments alone, while providing additional storage of the roof. The Spartan Diamond LFD cab features a 20” raised roof; Cummins 400 hp engine; and SCBA seating for 8 firefighters. The front bumper is equipped with two hydraulic hose reels and storage for pre-connected rescue tools. The tools are powered by a Hurst OctoFlow PTO driven hydraulics system with six individually controlled ports: (1) in roadside #2; (1) in curb side #2; (2) in back; and (2) in bumper (total of 6 channels).
The compartments are designed for specific equipment storage. It includes 40” deep compartments from lower floor to top of door. Designed storage for air bags, spare SCBA bottles and other equipment is easily accessible.

Warn portable winch. The cab and body are
fully multiplexed with V-Mux system. All
warning, stop, turn, backup and marker lights
are LED. Warning lights are latest Whelen
Super-LED. An LED traffic advisor and backup
camera protect the rear of the body.
A 35-kw PTO generator provides power for (4) cord reels; (2) tripod flood lights; (4) upper side body flood light; cab brow flood light; (2) 9,000 watt NightScan light towers and multiple strategically located power outlets on the interior and exterior of the body and cab.
All compartment lights are LED strip type recessed into the side walls for unobstructed use. A textual message center on the dash provides critical status information regarding doors open, roof compartment lids open, awning deployed, light tower extended.

Hackney’s exclusive fold-down step platforms provide easy access to all storage space. Note the recessed Unistrut shelf tracks and recessed LED compartment lighting opening up full utilization of compartment space. Hurst Octoflow controls are mounted on the side walls below the hydraulic reels.

Although 39-ft long, the Spartan chassis affords excellent turning radius and maneuverability. The overall height is under 11-ft providing accessibility in all response areas.
