EASTERN
PINES FIRE-RESCUE-EMS Greenville, North Carolina
Eastern Pines
Fire-Rescue-EMS, located in suburban Greenville, North
Carolina, replaced their existing Hackney rescue with
a new heavy rescue mounted on a Spartan custom cab/chassis.
The truck committee spend many hours with Hackney
engineering designing a location for every piece of
equipment they wanted to carry on the truck. The results,
as pictured, met every criteria established by the
Truck Committee and the Board of Directors.
The Spartan Advantage cab with 10" raised roof
was equipped with a SCBA officers seat and four rear
SCBA seats. The body is a Hackney DFC1173R heavy rescue
with recessed roof. Located inside the recessed roof
are one 16-foot and one 9-foot coffin compartment
and a Will-Burt light tower with six MagnaFire flood
lamps. The lamp heads are dual directional allowing
for positioning three lamps in opposing directions
or all in the same direction.
A 25-kw Onan PTO generator
is mounted inside the left front compartment providing
power to the light tower, left and right upper side
body recessed MagnaFire floods, two rear mounted MagnaFire
tri-pod floods and one MagnaFire front cab brow flood,
as well as multiple outlets and a 240VAC Hannay cord
reel with four 120VAC outlets on a split circuit.
