Orange County Fire-Rescue, serving
the Greater Orlando area, is operating a Hackney DF0973
Heavy Rescue mounted on a Spartan Advantage custom
cab/chassis. The chassis is powered by a Cummins ISC330
and Allison MD3060.
The apparatus will serve multiple
functions within the department, from rescue and extrication
to special services for haz-mat responses and confined
space rescue. The extended front bumper features a
12,000 lb. Ramsey winch. Mounted in the bumper are
dual Stuttertone air horns and siren speaker. A Whelen
Xecutor siren is mounted on top of the bumper. Located
just forward of the left and right rear wheels are
rope tie-off rings rated at 10,000 lbs. An Onan 25,000
watt direct-drive electronically controlled PTO generator
is mounted inside the left front compartment. It powers
a 6000 watt NightScan light tower, cord reel and multiple
outlets around the truck. The body features 660 cu.
ft. of useable storage capacity. Complimented throughout
with an array of adjustable shelves, slide-out trays
and tilting trays, it also features two 68" high
x 36" deep two-sided slide-out tool boards in
the #2 right side compartment; special storage tunnels
for a stokes basket stretcher, multiple long back
boards and folding ladder. The 73" high x 42"
wide x 40" deep rear compartment is set up for
all hydraulic extrication tools, power unit and hose
reels.
