Located on the North and South Carolina border in the Great Smokey Mountains, Connestee Fire Rescue protects homes nestled in mountain coves, river valleys, around golf resorts and other envious locations in this mountain region.
The 18.5-ft long, body boost 535 cu.ft. of useable storage space in the eleven lower compartments and an additional 142 cu.ft in the three roof mounted coffin compartments (total 677 cu.ft.). All this space with a 188” wheelbase. Makes handling on these winding mountains roads and driveways easy. Because of low hanging tree limbs a custom built tubular aluminum cage was installed over the light bar and a limb deflector in front of the cab roof mounted light tower. The drop/pinch frame provides a low profile body that permits access to all storage compartment from ground level. A two-bottle SCBA fill station is provided in the left rear compartment beneath a full body length awning. A slide-out 40 lb. Speedi-Dry hopper is installed in the right rear wheelskirt panel. The back compartment is dedicated to hydraulic rescue tools, two hydraulic reels and air hose reel.
A 35kw PTO generator provides power for the hydraulic tool power units, 5400-watt light tower, four upper side body flood lights, two cab brow mounted flood lights, two tripod flood lights, portable flood lights; two cord reels, refrigerator and multiple power outlets.
The cab and body are full multiplexed and features all LED lighting (emergency warning, including RotoRay; clearance; stop/tail/turn; ground; and compartment light strips). Whelen 12vdc halogen scene lights are installed on the upper side of the cab, two on each side of body and two on the rear body.
The extended front bumper houses pre-connected hydraulic tools and a 10,000 lb. receiver, Q2B, air horns and siren speakers. Two 750-watt brow mounted flood lightsprovideplenty of light for forward rescue operations.
