Desiring a heavy rescue with a short turning radius, Atlantic Beach Fire Department selected a Mack MRU612 tilt cab chassis with a Hackney DF0973R body with recessed roof storage. The left and right front compartments feature hinged doors with separate sealed compartments for storing all petro-chemicals and gasoline driven equipment. The left side compartment is above the chassis fuel tank.
The body features a drop/pinch frame that provides 40” of compartment depth in the #2 compartment forward of the rear wheels from floor to ceiling, significantly increasing the storage capacity of the body. Space between the cab and body includes a transverse tunnel for storage of folding ladders.
Other features include: multiplexed electrical system; recessed LED compartment track lights; all LED Whelen warning lights; Roto-Ray below windshield; Q2B siren; 25kw PTO generator; cord reel with power distribution box; (2) tripod flood lights on rear; (2) upper side body flood lights each side; (2) front cab brow flood lights; NightScan light tower; two-bottle SCBA and SCUBA fill station; utility air hose reel; (2) hydraulic hose reels; 240VAC Simo hydraulic pump; front, rear and side 10,000# receivers with portable winch; (2) slide-out tool boards; air bag storage; slide-out tool box; and SCBA/SCUBA slide-out rack.
