The Mendocino Emergency Services
Authority purchased a custom cab hazardous materials
emergency response vehicle for responses in the northwestern
sector of California along US Highway 101, approximately
100 miles north of San Francisco. The vehicle will
be operated by the Mendocino Unit of the California
Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The vehicle
was sold and will be serviced by Placer Fire Apparatus.
The unit features a 25kw PTO generator,
Command Light CL615 light tower nested in the front
of the recessed roof, MagnaFire flood light centered
on upper left and right side of body and two tripod
MagnaFire flood lights on the rear. In addition, all
exterior compartments and the command center are provided
with 120V fluorescent lights. A 240VAC cord reel split
into two separate 120VAC circuits, multiple power
outlets, roof mounted air conditioner, strip heater
and refrigerator/freezer round out the items powered
by the generator. The command/resource center also
features a fume hood with vapor-proof light and blower
for chemical analysis evolutions. The work counters
are stainless steel for easy cleaning with aluminum
cabinets.
