V-MUX
Color Control PanelAll Hackney Emergency Vehicles
are equipped, as standard, with a fully multiplexed
electrical system featuring a full color graphics
display control panel mounted convenient to the driver
and officer positions. The bright display is clearly
visible under all lighting conditions and provides
for "at-a-glance" visualization of all functions
and warnings. When a specific function is activated,
the graphics screen nomenclature changes from blue
to red. A single red button in the bottom left row
is all that is required for activation of emergency
warning lights. Everything else is automatic based
upon a pre-programmed response scenario.
Warnings are scrolled or streamed
across the top of the screen whenever anything happens
that requires a malfunction alert. Others scripted
and graphic warnings include: doors not closed (left,
right, rear or cab), light tower not stowed, roof
compartment lids not closed and awning not stowed.
In addition to the audible and scripted warning, a
graphic depicts flashing symbols of the specific affected
component.
The Service Info button activates
a screen that displays information on the engine and
transmission, including serial numbers, oil capacities,
type of oil, recommended oil filter, recommended service
intervals and more. A separate screen displays vehicle
serial number, manufacture date, factory support contacts
and phone numbers and more.
The system permits remote diagnostics
through internet downloading, identifies specific
circuit faults and provides for a system analysis
and load test.
Other features include: standard
backup camera that automatically activates the screen
whenever the vehicle is in reverse or thru a manual
override, volt and amperage graphics display and optional
internal and external temperatures. Reference the
Hackney Proposal Specifications for further details
